How it works
Setting up KelvinTrack takes four steps, with no construction work and no equipment replacement. A wireless sensor is first placed inside each fridge or storage unit to be monitored; KelvinTag sensors are IP68 waterproof, operate from -40 °C to +85 °C, and run on a 3-year battery. You then define the allowed temperature range for each unit, for example 2 to 8 °C for vaccines. Readings then stream continuously to your dashboard through an Android 12 or newer phone left on site with the free app, which relays them over WiFi or mobile data. If the relay loses internet or stops
Without internet, readings are kept on the phone and upload once the connection returns, but no alert leaves the site in the meantime. If the phone stops, the sensors keep recording; the dashboard shows them as offline after 4 hours, with no email, SMS or push notification about the relay. A dedicated 5G gateway (Poliponet) is in preparation; it cannot be ordered yet.

What happens during a power outage or equipment failure?

Do we need to replace our medical fridges?
No. The sensors are placed inside your existing storage units and work with your current equipment.

Yes. The relay phone keeps the readings and sends them as soon as the connection returns; the sensors also keep recording to their own memory, so no reading is lost. However, no alert leaves the site during the outage: alerts arrive once the connection is back. The relay can use WiFi or mobile data.
Do we still need the morning-and-evening paper log?
KelvinTrack automatically records every reading, with a timestamp, including overnight and on weekends: the resulting traceability is far more complete than two daily entries. How you organize your internal procedures remains your decision; the PDF export can serve as a temperature log for any period you choose, with no manual re-entry.
Who receives the alerts when a temperature excursion occurs?
Alerts are sent by SMS and/or email, as you prefer, as soon as a threshold is crossed. You can add several recipients: the owner, the deputy pharmacist, the person on call. An excursion during an absence or holiday therefore never goes unanswered: someone is always notified and can act in time.
How accurate are the sensors?
KelvinTag sensors are inspection-grade and offer accuracy of up to ±0.05 °C. When a sensor has been calibrated, the application displays its calibrated accuracy; otherwise, it shows the component's estimated accuracy. This level of measurement is suited to the most sensitive healthcare products.
Is there a subscription per sensor?
No. The KelvinTag sensor is a one-time purchase, with no per-sensor subscription. To relay the readings, there is nothing to buy. The relay is an Android 12 or newer phone running the free KelvinTrack app, left on site within Bluetooth range of the sensors (up to 50 m depending on the environment); we recommend keeping it plugged in. It sends the readings over WiFi or mobile data to the dashboard, which alerts the people concerned by email, SMS and push notification, iPhones included. If it loses internet, readings are kept and upload once the connection returns, but no alert leaves the site in the meantime.
How much day-to-day maintenance do the sensors need?
Practically none. KelvinTag sensors have a 3-year battery and the hardware carries a 3-year warranty. The sensors are waterproof (IP68) and operate from -40 °C to +85 °C: they handle a vaccine fridge as easily as a sample freezer. Once in place, they measure on their own, with no effort from your team.
